İznik Imaret of Nilüfer Hatun (Turkish-Islamic Arts Museum)
The imaret, built by Sultan Murat I for his mother Nilüfer Hatun in 1388, is used as a museum today. The building, which was used as a warehouse for different needs after the Republic period, was restored in 1960 and opened as a museum the same year.
In the museum, there are various historical ruins from the prehistoric period to the Ottoman period collected from İznik and its surroundings and the artifacts found in the excavations of Ilıpınar, İznik Roman Theater, İznik Tile Furnaces Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman artifacts are exhibited in the garden of the museum. These artifacts; It consists of columns, sarcophagi, reliefs, pulpits, steles, inscriptions, gargoyles and Islamic tombstones.
