İznik Mahmut Çelebi Mosque
As the inscription on the door arch on the north facade of the mosque stated that it was built by Mahmut Çelebi during the period of Murad II between 1422 - 1423. It is the last mosque in Iznik of the Ottoman period. The mosque consists of the main square planned prayer room and the last congregation place to the north of it. Rising above the main walls, the minaret has a round body, a single balcony and a pointed cone. The last congregation place has three sections.
