Mausoleum of Okçu Baba
Mausoleum of Okçu Baba
It is believed that this mausoleum was built in the 14th century. As it is known that the grave of a pasha called Nusret, or Nasrettin, rendering important services during the conquest of Bursa, is situated in this mausoleum, it is also mentioned as “Nusret Pasha” Mausoleum. As Nusret Pasha was a master in archery, it is presumed that it is mentioned as “Okçu Baba”, or “Father Archer”.
This structure is built with a square plan and a single dome. Inside, there is one sarcophagus, which is the one of “Okçu Baba”. This mausoleum was renovated in 1633, and in 1644.
