Mausoleum of Sirin Hatun
It is known that it was built in the early 16th century on behalf of Shirin Hatun, wife of Bayezid II, and mother of Prince Abdullah. Shirin Hatun ordered a masjid to be built in Trabzon, and one school each in Bursa and in Mihaliç (Karacabey). She furthermore affiliated these with different waqfs.
Inside the mausoleum, there are the “Ayete’l-Kursi”, or “Throne Verse”, written under the squinches with “celi sulus” script, and medallions and hand-drawn decorations on its walls.
There are two more tombs besides the one of Shirin Hatun in this mausoleum. One of them is the tomb of Aynıshah Sultan, daughter of Prince Abdullah, the other, however, of Ferahshah Hatun, his wife.
The mousoleum which was thoroughly restored by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality between 2013 and 2014 is located in the site which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2014.
