Mudanya Dereköy Church
Mudanya Dereköy Church
The name of Dereköy comes from its old name, Potamya, which means creek in Greek. The Greek Orthodox Church, built in 1857, was used as a church until the Greeks went to Greece in 1922. Afterwards, it was converted into a mosque by the Muslim Turks who came to the region in 1924 and used as a mosque until 1972.
