Mudanya Train Station

Located on the Mudanya coastline, Mudanya Train Station was built by the French in 1849 as a customs building. Later, a 42-kilometer long railway line was built between Mudanya and Bursa in order to facilitate the export of raw silk yarn from Bursa to Lyon, France. The building, which previously served as a customs warehouse, became Mudanya Train Station. The Mudanya-Bursa Railway Line, which provided transportation between Bursa and Mudanya for many years and played an important role in reaching the world of goods produced in Bursa, was closed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on July 10, 1953. This magnificent station building, which lost its function as a result of the removal of the train that provides transportation between Mudanya-Bursa , was restored in the late 1980s and turned into a hotel.
